Ben's Evaluation
This is my improved Evaluation. I have added a paragraph in question 1 about the importance of camera angles in the film. I have also added a paragraph in question 4 about the results of my survey and I have discussed them.

Evaluation
Evaluation
This post will be regarding my evaluation for media. I worked in a group of 3 with Ben Brazier and Shaun Quilter. I will comment on what I believed we did well, I believe we did poorly, problems that occured throughout the making of the film and planning of the film and more.
First of all, Me, Ben and Shaun planned out the film and had to think up ideas for a good cliffhanger-type film. Initally our plan was a Horror/Thriller type film, which would keep the audience engrossed in the film and wondering what would happen next. Our inital idea was a story involving 3 boys wondering around in the wood, where the boys would be chased and hear noises. We did some filming and initally the idea was good, however there were a few mistakes in the acting which we could have changed. However, Tom Baker who was doing the acting with us could not continue acting and had to join his group to film his movie. Unfortionatly, we could not find another actor who could take his place, so we had to re film.
Our 2nd idea wasnt really planned. Me, Shaun and Ben attempted to be ourselves as we changed the storyline to boys who were joking about in the woods and then Shaun would go missing. However, even though some of the material was good, the camera had problems as we had poor sound quality and the video had several lines so we could not watch the video back and not make a movie out of it. We decided the Idea was poor and decided to make another idea.
Our 3rd attempt was a conversation between 3 boys outside a classroom. Our idea was very good, however we did not plan and again we made it up off the top of our heads much like the 2nd idea. I believe however this could have been a good film, but the filming on it was very choppy and we made alot of mistakes whilst acting which we could not edit. We took out alot of scenes which had mistakes and the film only lasted about 25 seconds which was far too short and most of the scenes were very choppy. Watching other groups we believed our work was not up to standard at all. Once again we decided to refilm.
Our 4th attempt fortionatly worked well, Me, Shaun and Ben decided to create a deal type film happening in a school classroom. Me and Ben did not act in this film and only did the filming and Ben did the editing and we asked Amber to do some acting for us. The film was not planned well, only briefly and we got about 2 mins of footage which enough to work on. The acting in the 4th attempt was fantastic which very few mistakes, making the editing very simple. When we went to edit it, we only had to take out about 40 seconds of outakes, which we included at the end for comic value.
However, we experienced problems when we uploaded the video to Youtube. We uploaded the video to Youtube, however we removed it due to making a few errors in the credits and not including music in the credits. However, the computer that we worked on was very problematic and when we attemted to upload again, we could not log onto the computer as it would just freeze. The Computer was then stripped, therefore we lost all out recording and could not find the tape which we recorded on. We could not retrieve the inital video from Youtube either which was a pain. However we could not re-record due to lack of time.
If I was to do this differently again, I would certainly plan the project in far more depth as the inital planning was rushed and we should have taken far less time filming the project as it took us a great deal of time to record 4 times. We also could have gone into other genres in the planning or sub genres and getting creative ideas from other films, like camera angles, suspence, settings etc. We also should have used more sound effects, making the movie more relistic in places in our movie. Overall I believe we did well with the final recording however next time we should learn from our mistakes we can produce a better, more in depth film which can keep the audience engrossed into what is happening and make the audience really enjoy the film they are watching.

My Film
When creating this production experience, I found that it was quite difficult to start at first an we wanted to create an original idea. After a few ideas of cafe scenes we came up with a shop scene, as this idea became better it became more fun to create. As we decided to make this more dramatic to enter someone getting shot this seemed good at the time but took a number of shots to get a better scene as it was funny to shot it.I think that the production as a whole went very well we incorporated all of our group in the film as we all got to use the equipment for practice and to help with future productions. It took practice to get used to setting up all the equipment and mainly using the camera to create different shots. The worst bit may have been our story board and our last scene with the shot. As the storyboard wasn't really planned well enough and the type of shots we did were different to the final ones, next time i think there needs to be more time planning. The shot scene was very funny but we didn't really take it as seriously as we should. I was the one shooting another person in our group but i didn't do it realistically so its not that convincing. The setting was good but i think if we had more props and a better set it would have looked better overall. We also had some problem of doing it in the hall as there were dinner ladies spotted in the background. If I did this film again I would possibly spend more time on the preparation on the project as I think it wasn't planned well enough, because when we shot the film we had to keep retaking scenes when we should have processed of the film. We did shot, 180 degree reverse shot, and some others to create a good effect for the film. We had some troubles with the dolly as sometimes the tripod wouldn't fit into the dolly so it took time putting it in again and again. The advice I would give to other about doing this sort of film experience is to plan extremely well because I think if you have a good plan, then your film will run more smoothly as a whole saving you from having to backtrack to find work or having to stop working to do research ways to do different shots when you should have know.Although this project took a lot of time it was well worth doing it and I have learnt how to prepare myself and the group for the following project.
Script and Storyboard
When we started to do the storyboard we came up with a few ideas for our film, in the end we chose a shoe shop scene where one our the actors basically got shot. We chose plenty of different angles to cover what we needed to make this as good as possible. We used a lot of medium shots, low and high angles to show how the different actors looked. For camera movement we thought it would look good it we used things like panning to show how the characters are moving around the shot. Also deciding to use a dolly would be effective in the panning, also doing dolly shots to show how the actors come into the shop. We decided to use the zoom lens so that when Ella and Reece walk in we can see what type of people they are b the clothes they wear. The script was done well as we created good lines so you can get the idea of what type of person each character is like one of my lines is "look what the cat dragged in" by this we can tell that my character is quite snobby to different class people. The rest of the script was quite simple so nothing to difficult t remember. Although one problem with this is that its quite short so this will reflect on the length of the film.
Props Set and Outfits
The props we will use for this film will be borrowed from the drama cupboard used on previous shows so we can find a lot of what we need. The main props we will use are the clothing rails to get a sense of the shop and a cloak stand just to add that more of a set scene rather than where we choose to shoot the film. Which will be in the hall as all the other places are to small and using the bit curtain we can try and block out everything on the outside. The outfit used were set to everyones type of person as the Ella and Reece are lower class they will use more rugged clothes like coats and ugly shoes. But the assistant Toria and I will look more higher class to make our characters seem that bit more snobby.
